unrelated to topic but i'm confused why the lion's mane with higher beta-glugan ( http://nootropicsdepot.com/lions-mane-hericium-erinaceus-whole-fruiting-body-medicinal-mushroom-extract-powder/ ) is more expensive than the one with a lesser percentage ( http://nootropicsdepot.com/lions-mane-mushroom-powder-8-1-extract/ )shouldnt the 8:1 extract have a higher percentage? and is there info about the polysaccharide content ?

I spoke about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/9pis7w/why_does_the_11_nd_lions_mane_extract_powder_have/e83gwoz/
The gist of it is that beta glucans are a class of compounds, not a specific one like cordycepin. So when you do a full solvent extraction, you concentrate more of the 1,3 and 1,6 beta glucans, but lose some of the 1,4 ones. The idea behind the 8:1 lion's mane is to concentrate the hericenones and erinacines. Polysaccharide content is next to useless, since starch is a polysaccharide. So it is not really what you want to be looking for anyway, unless you have some way to measure the specific polysaccharides and separate them from basic starch.
