A few questions on curcumin
Original post in this thread

I noticed that Nootropics Depot has two versions of curcumin. This one has a COA which shows very low levels of heavy metals. However, I was leaning more towards the Longvida version due to better absorption, but it doesn't have a COA posted. Would that be available anywhere?
I also noticed that a lot of different companies sell Longvida curcumin. I know this label refers to a patented method of processing the curcumin, but do all these come from the same manufacturer (i.e., are they all relabels of the same thing)?
Finally, I was wondering if Nootropics Depot was planning on selling encapsulated curcumin any time soon. Thanks in advance from a repeat customer.

Sorry, I have been removing the COAs from the site, and am in the process of switching them all out to spec sheets. I won't get into the nitty gritty, but I didn't realize the images were adversely affecting our SEO. Google made some recent changes to their algorithm, and they were more heavily weighting image compression/size. Well all our COAs we had up were just high res image exports of the PDFs they were in, which were not optimized. So I removed most of them, and am going through and recompiling all of them with a lot more compression on the images.
We also recently moved to crating COAs for all lot numbers, not just the batch numbers of the raw materials used in the lots. We have traditionally given people the COA for the bulk batch that was used in the lot, but many people were confused that the lot and batch numbers were different. So now we transitioned our processes, and our lab manager creates a new COA for every single lot that we produce. This is not conducive to updating the images on the site, as we produce hundreds, if not thousands, of lots a year. We also may have 2-3 lots of a single product up on the shelf at any given time, due to how our new inventory system is setup. So we are going to have spec sheets on each product, which give the limits for every testing measure. Then our support team can get you the COA for your individual lot if you ask. Eventually we want to have an automated system for pulling up the COAs by lot number on the site, but we are still looking for a capable developer to take that project on.

Yes, Longvida is a patented product from Verdure Sciences. It is essentially curcumin surrounded by a solid lipid particle, which improves bioavailability. This is why the dosages are lower for Longvida than they are for regular curcumin. We work closely with Verdure on a few extracts. However, any Longvida product should contain the same main ingredient. The difference is going to be how they are handled and put into the final product, along with any secondary testing. We do a lot more than anyone else in the space. We even test patented extracts for verification, unless the patent holder gives us the raw data output from the analysis of the specific batch. Verdure is great, though. They use the same labs we do. We have never had a problem with quality from Verdure.

Yes, we are in the process of encapsulating Longvida, and are going to be encapsulating regular curcumin with piperine as well. So those should be up in the next couple months.
