So were they just actually following a quality requirement when they made batches for that pharmaceutical industry? I imagine they did have requirements, which they followed, since we seemed to believe that Ladasten was fine, barring amount of supply.

Yeah, they produce it for them on contract, following quality specifications. That usually comes with an exclusivity agreement. So we often find Chinese labs capable of doing a synth for us, but they can't; due to that contract with a Russian pharma company. It's happened enough times now that I realize it's a pattern, and a whole lot more is being synthesized in China than most people think.
