Medicinal mushrooms questions/suggestions

Original post in this thread

I was reading your blog post on medicinal mushrooms and for almost every mushroom it says "supports healthy cellular function". This seems like a very vague catchall. Doesn't anything good for you support healthy cellular function, like water and air? Is it possible to get more specific with what this means for each mushroom? Since this is a comparison article I am interested in what differing ways each "supports healthy cellular function".

Also, with such a complex range of benefits from mushroom to mushroom I'd be really interested in some kind of chart or infographic showing which mushrooms are good for what. Similar to the chart you made on your adaptogens page (which has a couple mushrooms on it).

Finally, it would be nice if you offered a mushroom capsule sampler similar to your racetam capsule sampler. There are a similar number of options in the medicinal mushrooms category as the racetams category so I think it would be a nice product offering for someone new to medicinal mushrooms and maybe get more people into it.

Unfortunately not. We used to have more detail. However, based on some recent actions by the FDA with other vendors, we reworded things to avoid running into issues. If you see statements like: "supports, promotes, possibly improves, etc." that's not us purposely being vague. That's us trying to stay within the FDA framework for statements surrounding supplements.

We were going to do that. However, we stepped back a bit for the same reasons as above. We still probably will. However, the wording and statements in the infographic are going to be chosen carefully. When you mix statements regarding the effects of a supplement, with the actual sale of that supplement, things get more complicated. We don't want to be misconstrued as attempting to promote the treating of diseases, and that line is not as clear as some may think.

That we can do. I will speak to the team about it.
