Coingate now has an option to purchase Bitcoin using a credit or debit card. They also have a well-written step-by-step guide on the process. This might be handy for those looking for an alternative to Coinbase in the US. They claim that it only takes an hour to verify the account and get your BTC. After you are verified, they do not need to keep getting info every time.

I would recommend purchasing the BTC before you make an order. Once they are in your wallet, like Electrum, then you can place an order on Ceretropic, and pay the Bitcoin invoice for the order. If you try to purchase the BTC after you make a Ceretropic order, it will likely timeout before you get your BTC, and you will have to place another order anyway. So purchasing the BTC before you make an order on Ceretropic is recommended for ease of use.

how long do bitcoin transactions usually take to confirm? it's been taking over 24 hours to confirm, and now i suppose credit card processing is back up.
i'm kind of new to bitcoin, and apparently in order to have quick transactions i should have used a bigger fee than the electrum default? would be cool to have a guide.

Yesterday saw a spike in transaction confirmation times. It jumped to 223 minutes.

There are a number of unconfirmed transactions from yesterday that I can see on the blockchain. I am not sure what the deal is. I was looking at it earlier and wondering what was going on. I've had some transactions not even show up on the blockchain for hours, and then randomly show up on a fork in the chain at a later date. There is certainly some congestion on the network that needs to be addressed soon.
PM me your details, along with your wallet address, and I can look into what the deal is.
