Why don't you accept Money Orders?

Offering a snail mail solution with a money order payment option seems like a sensible way to end the payment embargo that is occurring with Ceretropic. Those methods still work you know. (Also, it's waaay more private than having to divulge banking info.) As it stands, as a categorical statement, it's easier to buy weapons-grade plutonium online from the Russian mafia using blue-eyed Chinese slave girls as payment than to buy anything from @Ceretropic.

Are you for real? How do you think the world economy worked prior to 1991? Businesses large and small used to process, and still do process, "thousands of money orders a month" with no problems whatsoever. And remember, all of those money orders represent cash flow, and hopefully, income.
"What happens when USPS loses the money order?" All first class mail comes with a tracking number, and lost money orders are traced and replaced if lost.
"What's our bank going to do when we show up every single day with hundreds of money orders to deposit manually?" Their job. That's what banks do. And they do it well. With a smile.
"How messed up is our inventory system going to be with thousands of open orders sitting there, waiting for money orders to come in the mail?" That's so stupid, it's not even a red herring.
"How do we know to cancel old orders where the person decided to not send in the MO? Do we want a week? A month? What happens when we go out of stock on everything because thousands of orders are awaiting payment? How large of a support team do I need to build to be able to keep track of all these variables?"
Ooohhh, apparently you've never ordered anything by mail before! Here's how it works. A customer completes an online order form specifying what they want. The page calculates shipping and taxes and the customer gets a total. THEN, instead of trying to use a CC, or el…

It's not 1991 anymore. We've had accounts frozen from just trying to deposit over 300 checks at a time. Financial regulations since 2008 are insane. If we could go back to 1991 level banking regulations, we would not even be having this conversation. The US government has put a stranglehold on the banking industry since 2008. It's a completely different world now. Trust me, I deal with it every day. Banks don't just deal with you with a smile anymore. They close your accounts and sever ties at even the hint of risk. Money order fraud is becoming a bigger deal than it has in the past as well. You might not have to think about these considerations, but I do.
Also, USPS first class does not come with reliable tracking anymore, and USPS will NOT cover lost packages sent first class. They changed that over a year ago. You need to pay for priority to get reliable tracking and some insurance now. I appreciate the snark, though. You think snark is your ally? You merely adopted the snark. I was born in it; molded by it. I didn't hear straight answers until I was already a man...
