I take all types of Noots during my week most of the fat soluble I take days off and take most of the water soluble daily, these include piracetam, phynlpiracetam, oxyricetam, noopept, aswaganda and theanine...I simply cannot add choline or dmae at all in any amount without getting real bad neck pains...is this because I have to much or 2 little? I broke of a 1/8 piece of dmae from a 315mg pill today to see if it was still the same...sadly within minutes the pain was present.

Just wondering, does anyone know the cause of this? I get the rationale behind why a lack of choline would cause headaches with racetams, but why does too much cause those other side effects? I see there's some effect on BP, but that seems like it shouldn't be so targeted to specific bodily areas unless I misunderstood

Muscle Pain: Mechanisms and Clinical Significance

>In a widespread hypothesis on the origin of MTrP's
(19), it is supposed that a muscular lesion damages the
neuromuscular endplate so that it secretes an excessive
amount of acetylcholine. The ensuing depolarization of
the muscle cell membrane produces a contraction knot
that compresses the neighboring capillaries, causing
local ischemia. Ischemia, in turn, leads to the release of
substances into the tissue that sensitize nociceptors,
accounting for the tenderness of MTrP's to pressure.
Substances of this type have been found to be present
within the MTrP's of these patients (20). This supposed
mechanism leaves many questions unanswered but is
currently the only comprehensive hypothesis on the
origin of MTrP's.

That's the closest I can find to a mechanism for why excess choline might cause neck/shoulder pain. I would think it is due to excess acetylcholine causing too much signaling in the muscles, and contracting them too much.
