chocolate as nootropic? Nootropics Depot's Chocamine product?

I have tried a variety of dark chocolates but prefer the darker % wise; 70-100%. I have tried unsweet 100% chocolate, no other ingredient but chocolate liquor.

People here have talked about caffeine as nootropic; chocolate has it too so I'm here to talk about it. The neurotransmitter "Anandamide" is said to be found in/isolated from chocolates but just couldn't be put in "form" for it to cross the blood brain barrier for it to be effective (from what I understand).

One person from another forum have said that a mix of chocolate, fish oil, and arachidonic acid (from peanuts) can produce that "joy or bliss" associated with Anandamide, but who's to know what the true effect of Anandamide really is when it isn't yet produced in such a form AFAIK. Could Anandamide based drugs replace the ineffective SSRIs?

Who has tried Chocamine? I'd like to read some reviews of it.

Low concentrations???

I think not.

Gram for gram, cocoa has a lot of oxalate....one of the highest of all foods, surely the top 5 of all commonly consumed foods.

I used to take 1 heaping tablespoon twice a day.... And later found at that it may contribute to my calcium oxalate kidney stones...i had a mixture tho

You may want to re-word that

True, I should not have said it was in low concentrations. It's just not in enough concentration to make a higher difference for the dosage you are taking. People with issues with oxalate are told to keep their daily dosage of oxalic acid to 50mg/day or less. The oxalic acid content in cocoa ranges from 100-600mg per 100 grams. A normal dosage of cocoa powder is 1 gram. So if we take the higher 600mg/100g content, the dosage of oxalate will only be 6mg. Even if you take 5 times the dosage, you are only getting 30mg oxalate. That's at the highest concentration, and with taking a really big dose of cocoa. Even then, you are still well under the recommended dose of oxalate for the day. That also only comes into play if your doctor has you on a low oxalate diet. Regular people have nothing to worry about.
