N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine

I'm curious what the impetus was for the decision to use NALT instead of plain ol' l-tyrosine in your caffeine/tyrosine solution. Is it simply solubility? Examine seems to think NALT doesn't have much value:
"N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine appears to be able to contribute free L-Tyrosine in vivo after administration IV administration, but only able to increase L-Tyrosine concentrated 20% despite much larger increases in serum NALT.56% of the adminstered dose of NALT is excreted in 4 hours and another study suggests that, overall, 35% of the total NALT dose (administered parentally) is excreted via the urine as NALT and not L-Tyrosine."

NALT is 20 times more water soluble than L-Tyrosine. It was used in the solution to improve the solubility of Caffeine. L-Tyrosine simply would not work.
Also, the evidence for NALT is certainly lacking. I too thought it was over-hyped, till I tried it. There is a very noticeable and distinct difference in effects between the two. You can try it yourself. Do a back to back test on different days of L-Tyrosine and NALT, and see if you notice the difference too. I much prefer the subjective effects of NALT, and I am not alone in that sentiment.
