Does anybody's N-acetylcysteine start to smell after awhile?

Does that mean it's going bad? This happened with two different brands after several weeks. I keep the capsules in the bottle and get a pungent whiff whenever I open it.

The Jarrow extended release ones smell like grapes, from the time release additives I guess, if swallowing sulphur displeases anyone. I'm not sure the benefits of it being long lasting, but I grabbed a bottle to try regardless.
In fact, while we're semi-on-topic, I wonder if that's actually a bad thing given previous discussions about taking NAC before vs during vs after drinking and deleterious effects; 8 hour release would basically cover all three phases.
Edit: smell like artificial grape flavoring, not really the same thing.

The Jarrow time release NAC is just from a coating. It slowly releases the NAC in the GI tract, and gives you a little bit over longer time periods. As long as you take NAC before you go out drinking, it helps. You just can't take it after you have been drinking, as you will have already metabolized the alcohol a bit, and the NAC will bind to that metabolite too.
