SR-9009 (MoA)

So I admittedly have a very superficial understanding of the mechanism of action of SR-9009. But I'm trying to wrap my mind around the intuition behind a drug like this. I've read that it affects circadian rhythms. Yet I'm confused as to why this substance has no apparent effect on sleep and other circadian based behaviors? Indeed why was there no concern about insomnia? (I'm two days in running 20mg/day sublingually, and have experienced no sides nor have I read about any in others' logs). And why would one think a substance that modulates circadian rhythms would be helpful for fat loss or body recompositioning? I've also read that it has a cosmetic effect and improves the skin. Was this predictable? Do we know why this occurs?

REV-ERBα affects multiple biological pathways, including circadian rhythm, metabolism, inflammation, etc. SR9009 agonizes REV-ERBα, which inhibits interlukin-6 expression and up-regulates ABCA1. ABCA1 is the ATP-binding cassette transporter, or cholesterol efflux regulatory protein. Its activation also seems to increase mitochondria in skeletal muscle. That is probably a primary driver for the metabolic effects it causes. All of these transcription factors affect other downstream mechanisms; the extent of which we are still learning about.
