What they were answering

Ever since I almost died in an Indian hospital
Sounds like something the patient would reveal in the last five minutes of an episode of House, M.D. right before House berates his team and the patient.

One of my students actually saved my life. I was supposed to teach that day, but I was too sick and called in. Knowing that I was an American, one of them came to my hotel to make sure I was ok. When he got there he took one look at me and said we needed to go to the hospital. Good thing he did, because not too long after arriving they took my blood pressure and it was 70/40. The doctor said my heart was about to stop.
I was sick for 6 months after that. They thought it was tuberculosis, but I tested negative. Eventually it went away, but my immune system has never been the same.
