My experience with piracetam

If I had to describe it in one sentence - it was a great "one night stand".
That's how I would describe my relationship with piracetam. It worked extremely great in the beginning. I was hyper focused, hyper wired, creative like never before, felt great almost constantly, my sleep needs normalized (from 12h to 7 - 8h), food which I ate no longer caused fatigue - but gave energy. This lasted around 4 - 6 weeks. For the first time in my life, I actually thought I could make it big in life. I felt limitless. The dream of behaving and feeling like Eddie from Limitless was real.
But... all good things must come to an end. The effects slowly waned until I gradually went back to baseline. Nowadays, even 5 - 6g doses coupled with caffeine don't really seem to do anything noticable for me.
I wouldn't say it's an adrenal problem because I do feel stimulated from caffeine. Also, I did take choline and other recommended supps. I just don't feel stimulated by piracetam anymore. I should also add that by the end of my piracetam trip, I used to take around 20g+ per day and that piracetam for me only worked with caffeine. Without the caffeine, I couldn't get anything from piracetam alone. I'm n…

What you're describing sounds exactly like the placebo effect in action..maybe with a touch of hypomania.

While I would somewhat agree with you, even you have postulated there is a tolerance mechanism we have not found out yet. I highly suspect it is NMDA mediated. While this may not account for all of OP's loss in effects, I do believe it deserves some attention.
