No because Caffeine on it's own takes a little while to hit, it's why energy drinks include stuff like Taurine which hit you much faster. It's kind of like doing two shots of a high proof (75%+) alcohol, then spending the rest of the night drinking mixes to keep a long buzz going.

Why is everyone mentioning taurine as if it is a stimulant? Taurine is a necessary amino acid. It regulates cellular calcium levels, which protects various cells from glutamate damage. This is especially good for the cardiac muscles when taking stimulants like caffeine. It also stabilizes cellular membranes, and is an osmoregulator.
Taurine does not "hit" you. It is also not a bad thing like the media portrays it as. I just took a gram of it actually. I always take it with any stimulant. All those articles from retards with headlines like, "Taurine, is it killing our children?" don't even understand what it is...
