Yes that is true. Down-regulation of receptors might mediate the excess of 5-HT anyway

I figured. I agree with your message, though. 5-HTP is not a long term option. You want things that lead to up-regulation of tryptophan hydroxylase, like bacopa. Then you can use Saint John's Wort to up-regulate 5-HT receptors.
