Not denying it is a good deal, it is. It's just not that much cheaper than you can actually just buy the phone outright, and T Mobile keep you (most likely) for another two years. I bought one only the other day and was looking at the prices. (Ended up buying a secondhand 64GB one for $440, perfect condition.)
I pay $5/month for 2GB internet here; at $70/month T-Mobile will be making their money on you even if they aren't making much on the handset.

Where do you live? Korea maybe? Unlimited plans on the other carriers in the US are $110-$130/month. $70 is dirt cheap here, especially since they just rolled out LTE today. I just got 30Mbps down and 19Mbps up at the sushi restaurant! It's faster than my home internet. I wish the US had a cheaper mobile market, but this T-Mobile change is a good step in the right direction.
Ohh, and T-Mobile is finalizing an acquisition of more frequency spectrum. This will give them 40Mhz spectrum for LTE. 20Mhz up and 20Mhz down. That's double any other carrier while having significantly less subscribers. I don't plan on using anyone else for a bit.
