Note from Borax:
Adam has finished up for the night as it is midnight here. Thanks for all your excellent questions.
Can I ask everyone who hasn't already to check the survey out. It is a good 20 minutes but it carries a surprising amount of weight and the more people who do it, the more it proves that drug users are people who vote and therefore are people to be listened to.
Adam's other project which is run with the GDS is the [Drugsmeter](www.drugsmeter.com). You enter details about your use and it tells you how you compare to other users rather that how people think users use the drug. If you can think of any improvements at all to either project, please email the address on the website. There's no how to book on interviewing the world's drug users!
GDS did have a deal with NBC in the USA to help promote but they have sadly dropped out. If any of your friends use drugs then please point them in the right direction!

What needs to happen in the research and medical fields, to break the mindset that illicit substances have no medical value, and cannot be used to expand the knowledge and understanding of the human mind?
It seems that perceived propriety, and the rejection of objective thought, has diminished many people's natural desire for curiosity and discovery. In it's place, we are left with closed-minded rejection of ideas that differ from the norm. In the past, scientists and doctors searched for new ideas at every turn; even with imprudence at times. It would seem that modern society has taken away that inherent propensity for progress, replacing it with caution and stagnation. What needs to happen to re-inspire that thought process in professionals in the medical field?
