Actually no it isn't $60. The ram in the new macbooks is DDR3L 1600, 2 8gig sticks of it costs about $170. Here is currently the cheapest place to get this stuff. remember that you can't simply shove the cheaper 4gig sticks in because, like ALMOST ALL laptops, a macbook only has 2 dimm slots. Compare apples to apples so you dont look like an ass, however I do agree that it was kind of a dick move on their part even if that case is sexy thin.

Edit: nullpat has the wrong kind of ram. my point still stands.

So you are saying that 8gb of DDR3L 1600 costs $85, not $200 like Apple is charging? Remember, it's $200 EXTRA to go from 8GB to 16GB. So that's $200 for just 8GB!
