Was this completely internally driven, or did your work with the futurenutra partners give you an encouraging nudge?

Internally driven. We've talked about a rebrand/packaging update for over 6 years. In fact, I have test bottles on my desk from exactly 6 years ago when we first started the conversation. We almost did it back then, but other events put it on hold. What inspired me on the bottles was some that I saw at Supply Side West at a plastic manufacturer booth. That inspired me for what our redesign might look like. Then recently I decided it was time to start having that conversation again. I knew the bottle design I wanted to go with, and I had an idea of the general look of the label. I even did some initial test labels for it to get my ideas down years back. However, we decided to work with Nutramedia to see what they could come up with based on our initial ideas. They took a stab at a design, and then I used their design as a starting point to hone in, and did the rest of the design.
Here are the designs from Nutramedia.
They have something called brand therapy that you go through, which we thought was useful. You basically go through a whole process about your brand, who you are, what you want the design to convey, and all sorts of questions and details. This helps you get into the mindset for a redesign. That was nice, because it forces you to think about branding a bit differently. This helped get me in the right headspace for what I wanted to see with the rebrand and packaging update. Then I took their initial designs and ran with it.
I am pretty happy with them. I think they are clean and professional, and give the impression we are looking to.
We also custom designed the lids to be child resistant. I have a 2 year old right now, and he loves to get into everything. Bottles are his favorite. At best he dumps them all over the place. At worst he tries to eat them. I know that if I am dealing with it, other customers of ours are dealing with the same thing. We are one of the only supplement companies that has child resistant caps on any of our bottles. However, it's not all of them. The new bottles will all be custom child resistant caps to provide all customers of ours that are parents that piece of mind.
