What was their goal? To extort money from you because they knew you had some? I don't understand why they would waste so many resources when there are literal bad actors out there hurting the american people...

So to explain that, I need to explain what the FDA actually is. The FDA isn't one organization. It's actually two. FDA regulatory is who we all think of as the FDA. Those are the people behind the regulations, inspections, approvals, etc. That's all funded like any normal government agency, through budgeted tax dollars. However, then there is a whole other half to the FDA that nobody knows about: the OCI, or office of criminal investigations. The OCI is the law enforcement arm of the FDA. It has its own separate organizational structure. The thing about the OCI is that it is not funded in the same manner as FDA regulatory. It's funded by ASSET FORFEITURE. Yep... This means that they are funded by seizing money from the people they investigate.
