New Study On Gut-Brain Axis Mechanism of Magnesium L-Threonate (Magtein)

According to this study, magtein appears to modulate cognitive function via a gut-brain axis mediated mechanism, very interesting! Seems like we are learning more and more everyday about the gut-brain axis. I honestly would not have expected magtein to be active in this system!

I assume this would also apply for magnesium taurinate, which is also supposed to cross the BBB?

The study above is talking about the gut-brain axis, which is peripheral, so crossing the blood brain barrier isn't at play in what they are discussing. That being said, magnesium acetyl-taurate is a really cool form of magnesium. However, most magnesium taurate on the market is fake. The only real one we have found is the patented Tauromag. Many brands are just selling magnesium oxide mixed with taurine and calling it magnesium taurate. A bunch of the big suppliers are selling it to brands mislabeled. Mixing magnesium oxide and taurine together is not the same thing as chelating magnesium with acetyltaurine.
