Would we ever see an allicin supplement?

Being one of nature's biggest natural medicines and derived from garlic, it has shown some pretty unique health benefits when it comes to fighting the bad guys in the gut as well as cardiovascular / anti-oxidant / anti-cancer properties. I was wondering if ND ever considered exploring it

Have you guys figured out how to design a supplement that protects the allicin from being destroyed by our stomach acid, while still breaking apart quick enough to release a lot of allicin so that it can be properly absorbed? Seems like the release mechanism is more important than actually containing a lot of allicin.

That's interesting! So it is saying that you need to enteric coat it, but then formulate it so that it dissolves quickly when reaching the small intestine. However, I just read that paper, and I think the issue is that they are saying most garlic supplements are standardized to allicin POTENTIAL. This means that it requires the alliinase enzyme to remain intact in the garlic, so it can convert to allicin in-vivo. Since alliinase is delicate, that's a challenge. The garlic we are thinking of using is actually standardized to allicin itself. This should alleviate the need to keep alliinase intact.
