Just tried Matcha Magic: brief review

So right off the bat the reason I tried this stuff is I recently tried MudWtr and thought it was pretty cool minus the flavor. I figured if I could find some find similar without that spice taste then It would be prime. That’s when I discovered matcha magic. Which has the same key mushrooms I’d want (cordy/lions mane). So today it finally arrived and I tried it.
Flavor wise it’s worlds better than MudWtr. Something I’d actually enjoy drinking.
For the record i only used hot water and stevia.
Just having smelled it I was a little worried as the smell doesn’t make it seem like it would taste good… but it does. Like a green tea that’s more umami.
As for effects I feel alert, focused and calm. Which is ideal.
Def recommend.

You’re too focused on the semantics. I’m focused on the quality and “ceremonial grade” is how that is communicated. Of course it is abused but seeing an oxidized army green vs a bright vibrant green are two entirely different experiences. I expect the best to source the best which is why I asked in the first place. I didn’t mean to trigger a defense but it’s the very first thing a matcha connoisseur is going to ask. And the nootropics community and tea drinkers aren’t very far apart. I appreciate your knowledge and input.

This matcha would not be what a Japanese grader would consider "ceremonial grade" in a competition. There is no way to make it work at this price with insanely expensive matchas, and we wanted a more neutral flavor profile for the base Mushroom Magic Matcha. We taste tested a ton of matchas when making this, from super cheap ones to extremely expensive reserve ones. Think of this as a functional mushroom beverage based around matcha, not a replacement for a matcha aficionado's ceremonial cup. It's just two different experiences, and the taste of the mushrooms makes blending the flavors of some of the stronger matchas very difficult. In fact, we found that most people who beta tested versions for us did not like strong matcha flavors at all. I personally do. However, if I am wanting a strong high quality matcha experience, I am going to just make a nice matcha by itself. The mushroom flavors do not lend themselves to that palette. We chose this certified organic matcha because it was the most neutral tasting when combined with the mushrooms.
That being said, we are working on a Mushroom Magic Match "Baller Edition" that will be using a high end matcha that would be considered ceremonial grade. It's also using more potent mushroom extracts as well, so it will be a more premium version for people willing to spend more money on a higher end product, and want more of that strong matcha flavor. I am still playing around with the formulation, but I am hoping to finalize that soon. The next ones coming out are the Mushroom Magic Coffee, Mushroom Magic Coffee Latte, and Mushroom Magic Matcha Latte. We are also doing a Mushroom Magic Cocoa as well.
