Why does ND (and perhaps most other brands) prefer capsules over tablets? To me it seems like tablets are better: https://www.healthline.com/health/capsule-vs-tablet#tablet-pros-and-cons.

Capsules are easier to formulate, and most manufacturers have encapsulation machines, but might not have tablet presses. You can have less loss in an encapsulation run than a tablet run. Tablets give dosing adjustability, while capsules do not, though. It all depends on the formulation. Those pros and cons are a vast oversimplification to the reality of things. I can formulate a tablet that dissolves faster than a bovine gelatin capsule, or I can make one that takes way longer than a vegetable cellulose capsule. It depends on the specific formulation. We do tablets specifically for the dosing adjustability (ability to break in half), or if we want to enteric coat them. Otherwise we usually go for capsules. Sometimes a powder won't play nicely in a tablet press, so we are forced to use capsules. Sometimes we offer both capsules and tablets for the same product. It just depends on the specific product.
