GABA 750MG @5days no thc

I've been a daily smoker(thc) for awhile now and I recently quit. It has been a pretty easy transition in general. I used gaba 10 years ago to try and help with quiting the booze.
My nerves have been a little crazy the past few days so I used GABA 750MGS last night before bed(empty stomach w 8 ounces of water) and felt nothing after taking it. Mabye a little sleepy.
I monitor my sleep cycles with a Garmin Fenix Plus and recorded massively different data last night.
REM over the past year WITH the thc has been anywhere between 30 minutes- 60 minutes per night on average. Last night with the gaba I hit 3.5 hours of REM.
I've felt incredibly chilled out all day today. I also took a fantastic nap this afternoon.
Is my brain finally getting the good sleep it needs due to the removal of the thc ( 5 days without)? Or is this the gaba calming my nerves? Both?
I would like any input you guys can provide on Gaba &or quiting thc.
At this point I'm feeling the effects are mildly noticeable but positive. Should I continue the Gaba use or should I be careful?
I eat a higher protein diet as well. Does the GABA compete with amino acids like other?
Thanks in advance

GABA didn't cross the blood brain barrier so you're not going to feel much. It's kind of useless for sleep and relaxation.

I unfairly wrote off GABA for a decade because of the blood brain barrier talk online. Once I actually did some testing of our own, I realized we were unfairly writing it off. It definitely has effects, and those effects can be pretty strong when combined with other things.
