Epicatechin lowing Estrogen
Original post in this thread

Hey guys,
I've been taking Epicatechin recently and noticed lower mood and cracking joints and such. Toughed it out, but I recently added in HGW 10% and noticed no more joint cracks and better mood. Do you guys think it's from the HGW extract itself or from the improvement of estrogen levels. I've heard that Epicatechin is similar in structure to estrogen and can have a blocking effect. I really like Epicatechin because of the myostatin effects and weight loss but I'm trying to tinker with my stack to maximize the benefits and limit the negatives.
What have others experienced with Epicatechin?

Epicatechin does not bind to the alpha or beta estrogen receptors, or ERα and ERβ, which are the traditional estrogen receptors that most people talk about. However, there is some evidence that epicatechin might bind to the GPER, or G protein-coupled estrogen receptor.
The GPER was only discovered in 1996, so it is a newly studied receptor. It doesn't have the hormonal effects of the traditional ERα and ERβ ones. However, I am not sure how it might affect your body's natural production of estrogen itself. HGW positively affecting your symptoms makes sense, though. That contains an estrogen mimetic, which helps get rid of those symptoms. I suggest people take HGW with tongkat because of that effect.
