Does tigers milk have any unique respiratory benefits? In the product description it says that they come from the beta glucans content, but if that were the case any number of other mushroom/yeast extracts that are dosed higher would be more effective no? I feel like there'd have to be more to that story.

Well remember, beta-glucans are a class of compounds, not one thing. The types of beta-glucans found in different mushrooms will differ from each other. It's kind of like polyphenols for flavones. Hesperidin and 7,8-DHF are both flavones, but have very different effects in the body. If you were comparing two different plants by flavone content alone, you would be losing the specificity that is needed to understand the unique effects. So the unique beta-glucans in tiger milk will have their own effects. However, those are not the only things in there. There are likely multiple sesquiterpenes in it that are having effects, along with potentially polysaccaride-protein complexes.

So there is a lot more to the story that still needs to be elucidated about which compounds in tiger milk are having that effect, and what mechanism they are using to do it.
