im very curious about it. my friend just recommenced the supplement tru niagen to me for covid recovery, but its pretty expensive. plus im an undermethylator, so the trimethylglyccine in the optinad seems like itd be the way to go. im just curious as to the sourcing of the nicotinamide riboside. my friend uses to work for the company that makes tru niagen and he says they hold the patent for nicotinamide riboside synthesis, but maybe natrium discovered another viable synth. MYASD, if you happen to read this would you shed some light on this? my friend thinks its sketchy to buy it from any other source other than the tru niagen supplement, but ive poked my head in this Reddit over the years and read various comments by myasd on ND's extensive testing procedures that generally gives me faith in the authenticity of anything i purchase here.

A federal judge invalidated their patents last September. They tried to sue a company that was selling NR, and that company fought back. They argued that the patents were invalid because the subject matter was not patentable, as it was a naturally occurring vitamin. The federal judge agreed, and invalidated the two patents regarding NR. We have been able to synthesize NR for a long time, but we were waiting to see how these lawsuits went before offering it. Now that the patents have been invalidated, we have been able to move forward.
