Recently I notice SALG is better than reduced G. I've hoped you sell SALG, but you've started to sell SPLG. Can you explain about SPLG?

We were planning on releasing S-acetyl L-glutathione at the same time as the phenylacetyl, but we found most of the supply out there was failing assay. We've been working on it for 6 months. For some reason the supply of that specific material is just lower quality than other forms. We've gotten multiple batches from a bunch of vendors. It's been a pain in the ass. I believe we finally got one batch in that passed, though. It has just taken a lot of work. I think most of the stuff on the market right now is this lower assay version floating around. There's something about the synthesis method for that form that is leading to lower assay finished batches.
As for their relative efficacy, they should be similar. Their pharmacokinetics and distribution around the body should be slightly different, though. What's interesting is that the phenylacetyl form increased glutathione levels most in the liver. However, they should have direct effects in the body, too. So it is not as simple as "which one raised serum GSH levels the most?" They do significantly raise GSH levels in serum, but they are also directly uptaked into cells, which then they convert into GSH. The distribution around the body and into specific cells will differ because of the acetyl and phenylacetyl groups. Maybe S-acetyl gets into kidneys better, but S-phenylacetyl gets into heart muscle better. More research is needed to fully elucidate all that, though.
