Lemon balm and magnolia bark not sedative at high doses. Alternatives?

Have ND's lemon balm and magnolia bark tablets. Neither of them seem to provide a sedative effect even at high doses. Max dose of lemon balm was 4 grams (8 tablets), and after taking the tablets upon early waking around 1am, they just baaaaarely threatened to put me to sleep a couple times. The calming and mood improving effects are nice, though. I've also tried oleamide with no success, and so far ND's melatonin isn't cutting it at doses from .3-.9 mg.
Is there anything left to try? For sleep support in general, but especially those situations where a night's sleep could use rescuing in the middle of it.

Much appreciated, I'll give lower doses a try.

Rosmarinic acid in particular has a weird dose/response curve. It's much more parabolic than other compounds, which is why this happens with lemon balm a lot. This is especially true with super potent extracts like our Cyracos, which has high levels of rosmarinic acid. I have not figured out the exact mechanism with magnolia bark, but it for sure has a similar parabolic dose/response curve.
