Plants extracts can vary in color, smell, and flavor. That's normal. This is why proper standardization is key. You make sure the TLC fingerprint matches and that the actives are at the proper concentration, because you can't reply on visual cues to assess things. I mean, if one batch is green and another orange, then you can worry. However, variations of green/brown between batches of a botanical extract is perfectly normal.
