I just want to say thank you to MisterYouAreSoDumb. The man is incredibly knowledgeable, highly professional, levelheaded, and a tremendous asset to the nootropics community.
He can undoubtedly retire and spend the rest of life operating a coconut farm on a tropical island but he’s on a mission and continues to serve the community.
P.S. MYASD - I read your message the other day about Bitcoin stressing you out - try not to stress about Bitcoin 😉 I’ve been in it since 2013 and I won’t start selling until it’s north of 100k 🙂

Borrowing and lending is part of it. Decentralized exchanges are now doing huge volume. With what happened w/ Robinhood, this prolly goes mainstream in this cycle.
There have been exploits but obv this is to be expected w/ technology that is being built in real time. Just really cool to see all the stuff being built on top of the blockchains now w/ smart contracts etc. Before it was just sending, receiving, and investing in coins now coins can be programmed to do things.
The future is bright!

I agree that decentralized exchanges and stuff like that is cool! Smart contracts are some seriously cool shit. That's why I hold a ton of ETH. It's a "cooler" coin that BTC because of that technology. ERC-20 was a big step forward.
That being said, sometimes a certain amount of centralization has its perks. If something goes wrong, I have one entity to hold accountable. I only do OTC trades now. I have contracts setup with the OTC trading desks, and they are US companies with insurance and a presence here that I can sue if things go wrong. I value that security. When we are talking large amounts of money, that security and legal framework is crucial for me to be comfortable. I do think too much centralization is bad, and the whole point of crypto was to force decentralization in the financial world. So more decentralization built into smart contracts is absolutely a good thing. I am just personally going to wait for the technology to mature before I throw too much money into it. I am fully behind it succeeding, though!
