NAC smells like sulfur?
Original post in this thread

I recently got some NAC capsules, and the bottle smells very strongly of sulfur. I know it's not uncommon, but I've been reading about it and many people are saying that NAC is sensitive to heat and that the strong smell could mean that it's oxidized. Is this true? I know temperatures in Arizona are very high, and I also live in a hot country, so maybe it oxidized during shipping?

My pleasure! Yeah, it's really cool info. I had assumed it was H2S being formed from the oxidation of the NAC myself for a long time, since that is what I was told. This is why I like to empirically validate things in the lab now. So much stuff I have been told later turns out to not be true.
