Unbelievable! I did not know this!
So shouldn't our state taxes go down then since the they get all tgis extra money that they didnt expect in getting? We are talking billions of dollars in surplus money.

Ha! Taxes going down? Ain't happening. I have never once seen a state/county/city level tax go down. We had "temporary" extra sales taxes added here in Arizona to pay for new stadiums, and now decades later our taxes are even higher. State and local authorities get too dependent on tax increases, so they rarely if ever go down after they are implemented.
SOUTH DAKOTA v. WAYFAIR, INC. was total bullshit, though! States we have no association with, ones that I have never even personally been to, now say we have nexus there simply because some of our customers live there?!? It's ridiculous! If they want there to be a national sales tax, the federal government should have to run it, not force small businesses to have to deal with it. Now we as a company have to know the tax laws of 50 states and thousands of counties and municipalities. Some states require us to remit payment monthly. Some quarterly. Some biyearly. Some states allow us to remit city taxes to the state, and then they distribute to the cities. Some states expect US to remit directly to each fucking city!!! It's absolutely insane! It was a bad decision by SCOTUS that needs to be fixed at some point. Allowing each state to arbitrarily define what they think nexus is in their states is asinine. Some states simply now say ANY order from outside the state means a company has nexus there. So a small mom and pop shop that does $5,000/month in sales now has the same burden as Wayfair in some states. It's crazy!
