You can see NADH in the top right and NMN in the middle right. NMN is the direct precursor to NAD+. It also has a transporter in the small intestine that makes it good for oral supplementation. NADH is what is formed when NAD+ is reduced. In fact, while NAD+ goes down as we age, NADH actually goes up. We need both NAD+ and NADH for the creating of ATP. So while NADH is not really an NAD+ precursor like NMN is, it is still crucial in the process of creating ATP. This means I would not use NADH as a supplement to increase NAD+, but it might still be useful in the electron transport chain. Now do we need to supplement NADH if we are taking NMN? It's hard to say. Your NADH levels will go up if you are taking NMN, as more NAD+ is being made, which is then reduced to NADH through 2'-phospho-adenosine diphosphate ribose cyclase (2'-P-ADPR cyclase). Will it result in the ideal ratio? I am not sure we can answer that yet. The combo of CoQ10 and NADH supplementation has been shown to benefit people with chronic fatigue syndrome, so there are potential benefits there. I can speak to the team about possibly doing NADH.
