I recently discovered ND and everything seems like it would benefit me and I just don't want to go overboard. So, help?
I have really bad anxiety (and occasionally depression). In the past I had gone to the doc for help, but none of the meds worked so I gave up and have just been dealing with it. But, like, my anxiety makes even cleaning my home hard to do. And with 3 kids distance learning to top it off, I need to get this under control so I don't get all stressed out.
I am also a horrible sleeper. Its hard to fall asleep and I wake up easily and am awake for over an hour sometimes. I'd like to sleep deeper so I don't wake to every little sound in my apartment.
(Sorry guys, this is probably a TMI part) And lastly, my cycle has been out of wack since I had my last kid. At first I was willing to write it off as my body getting things back in order after having a kid and breastfeeding. But after a while, it is still off. At first I wasn't sure if it was thyroid related or Peri-menopause. At 34 I knew it was really early, but not unheard of, and I'm not having weight issues (I could lose a few, but I'm not fat either and am not gaining or losing at high rates). I started taking M…

I have been finding Nootropics Depot's Magnolia Bark to be amazing for social/generalized anxiety. In fact I have experimented with probably 20+ supplements for my anxiety and other than drugs that have serious consequences, Magnolia Bark is the strongest anxiolytic I have taken. However there are some major downsides. I find it extremely sedating, so I essentially have to micro dose it throughout the day to still be productive. Another downside is that it seems to induce a mild sense of dysphoria. Almost a "I don't give a shit" type of feeling. For me these downsides are worth it for the reduction of anxiety symptoms such as: sweating, shakiness, sense of impending doom and anticipation nervousness. Also the fact that it helps to keep other compounds I take from giving me anxiety (Caffeine & L-tyrosine). Now I don't want to get your hopes up as I have only been taking Magnolia Bark for the past 6 days. Unfortunately this could be something that I grow a tolerance to or something that I find I have to cycle. I still have to give it sometime before I can decide if its something I can take in the long run. I just figured I should let you know as it's one of the supplements you listed. Considering the fact it will only cost you $14 for 10 grams, I would say give it a shot! Good luck, I hope you find something that helps you.

Magnolia bark is super interesting, and a lot more effective than most people realize.
Also, this is an interesting study: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10197425/
