Question for MYASD

Original post in this thread

Ballam86 · 33 points

First off, I want to thank you for the time you've given me in the past when I had asked you questions via PM.

I finally bit the bullet back in December and ordered myself a large box of products from your company as a christmas gift to myself. I have been super impressed with my experimentation thus far.

After doing lots of lurking and seeing your posts here and in the nootropics reddit, I have also been impressed with your candid and open responses to others questions.

I am curious however, what is your own stack or go to products? I get the impression you've probably used a lot of the products you sell for yourself. What do you use and why? What are your favorite products?

Thanks!

Good post and aligns with all my research too. I agree that practicly no one sells peptides actually made in North America. My only maybe list is canlabs and tailor made. What are your thoughts on canlabs? Personally I'm in the camp of order from China and get it tested. There's a newer lab Xylia Technology I've been speaking with that's researching a proper setup for analyzing peptides.

I will say that tailor made doesn't sell without a prescription. I've also spoken to non-employee A4M peptide engineers (I forget the proper term atm) who confirmed on site synthesis. Some of the products are very odd in not being through clinical trials or seemingly not officially licensed through the patent holders. I'd expect to see cease and desist letters or legal suits brought for damages. They SEEM to be legit...ish. (yes I've read the FDA letter.

Canlab may be doing their own stuff. He seems to be using the equipment at the University of Montreal. His posts showing starting amino acids and analyses do not throw up any red flags for me. The mass spec software he is using is not the usual ones the Chinese labs use. So it very well could be him doing it all at the University of Montreal. Hard to say for sure without more data.

You saw what I found about Tailor Made above. After seeing that FDA report, it's pretty clear they are using China to make them, then not testing them at all.

Never heard of Xylia Technology. Based on some cursory research, I would not trust them. They appear to only have an FTIR. The offer quant service, but don't say what methodologies they are using. Also, any lab that has one price for all compounds is fake. Every single test costs different things. Some of the tests we do take a full 8 hours of analyst time with sample prep, run times, and data analysis. Sometimes you need to run larger and longer columns for longer periods, to get the separation you need. This uses a LOT more solvents, and takes a lot more time. Sometimes your sample prep requires advanced machinery like rotovaps or precolumn derivatization. That shit can cost a lot, and take a lot of analyst time. Some samples can be run by a level 1 or 2 technician, which costs less. Sometimes you need your PhD chemists to jump in, or even just level 3/4 leads. They are a LOT more expensive than a level 1 or 2 technician. I think a lot of people here would be dumbfounded by the complexity of a legitimate analytical lab. Hell, I am dumbfounded when I walk into our lab sometimes now. If I did not have some very intelligent scientists working for me, I would have no idea of the complexities behind getting real and valid data.

If you are interested in using an analytical lab, ask for a technical data sheet for their methodology and for their method validation packet, then see what they say. If they give you a packet with good scientific data, then at least you can browse through the details. More likely will be they have no idea what those are. That means they have no idea what they are doing. Also, ask them for their OOS process. How you sample, prep, measure, and validate has just has much validity to the results as the methodology and methods used. We have whole processes and SOPs dedicated to how sample prep is done, how many samples are made, how they are stored, how they are measured, and what happens if a result comes back with an out-of-spec result. The devil is in the details with science.
