Anyone tried the alcohol defense?
Original post in this thread

Hello,
I am a student and so entails a lot of drinking. I am in look of a product that would block the effects of alcohol after consumption and the alcohol defense seems to be backed by several studies (I looked at the individual ingredients). However as a student I am very low on money and therefore 35$ for me is VERY expensive 😅. Does anyone use it regularly? Does it work well?
Thank you

I did not find it effective if the goal is to reduce the uncomfortable consequences of alcohol consumption. Either it's too early in the evening to take it (you're shutting down your good time), or it's too late (you can't undo the effects of the alcohol you've already metabolized). No apparent reduction in aftereffects. I tried it at least two times. Not sure at this point.
Better off with hydration, electrolytes, NAC, B vitamins. While it's demonstrated to be technically effective, in practical use I got no benefit in terms of reduced consequences of alcohol consumption.
What we really need is a better drug alternative to alcohol.

This does not replace hydration, electrolytes, or NAC. You can still use those. In fact, I still do every time I drink. This is not a replacement for preloading. We just know people forget to take things, and NAC makes the damage from alcohol worse if you forget to take it before you start drinking. So we developed this one as an after drinking solution. NAC also doesn't sober you up. Alcohol Defense does. NAC also doesn't hit the nausea aspects of alcohol like Alcohol Defense.
We are developing a pre-drinking solution, though. There are other side effects of alcohol, like uric acid buildup, that are better tackled ahead of time. So a pre-drinking stack is in the works.
