2018 Horizon
Original post in this thread

I saw a post a while ago with a user asking about Ceretropic's new stock and ideas for 2016. So for MYASD: any new compounds on the horizon for 2018 that you are interested in adding to your stock? What about the return of old products that haven't been on the site for awhile or the extension of existing products such as the creation of phenylpiracetam hydrazide?
Cheers!

I dont see how you believe in BTC if you have been into it for so long and understand the technology.
Not great for payments slow, expensive, scaling issues. Not a true platform. BTC development is slow as fuck and the developers are divided. No user driven development. No store value.
There are a lot of good alts. Yes tons of scam and useless ones. But BTC is not the be all end all and I think it will be overtaken this year

I'm not sure if you understood my post. I am fully aware of what a shitshow BTC is right now. I also have a ton of ETH, and use that almost exclusively for day-to-day things. I am not putting my fingers in my ears and grasping to BTC maximalism; far from it. BTC, from a technology standpoint, has been left behind a bit. There are better coins now.
However, I also understand what BTC is, and what it means to crypto. The Bitcoin network has been up for 99.991995926% of the time since its inception on January 3rd 2009. That's huge. Nothing has ever been reversed on the ledger, and nobody has ever been bailed out. It is the longest running, most proven, and most immutable blockchain in existence. It created blockchain. There is a lot of value in how hard it is to change, and I think a lot of people underestimate that. Sure, it makes it slow to adapt and scale. However, there is value in the fact that it takes a lot to change the code. There is also value in it surviving as the foundation of crypto, and people who actively seek its failure are putting holes in their own boat. ETH would not exist without BTC. The value and trust people put into ETH would not exist if it were not for Bitcoin. I think it is extremely shortsighted to constantly see BTC and ETH as at odds with each other. They compliment each other in the crypto ecosystem, and both have value.
If ETH overtakes BTC this year, great! I have tons more ETH than I do BTC. I would be totally fine with that from an economic perspective. However, I am not going to wish for the failure of the first cryptocurrency because I am stuck in some sort of competitive mindset. One doesn't have to fail for the other to win. I want both to flourish, and to find each of their niches. So yes, I believe in Bitcoin. I believe in other things, too. I just also believe that Bitcoin will be sticking around, and the scaling issue with eventually be solved. It is not the end all and be all, but it is also not the enemy. Remember that.
