5-HTP and EGCG out of cup of tea?
Original post in this thread

so i have bought some 5-HTP for after MDMA use and read this:
The enzyme that converts 5-HTP to 5-HT is aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase. It is found in your stomach and periphery, as well as your brain. This means that we have to inhibit it, so that your 5-HTP has time to pass your blood brain barrier. EGCG is an inhibitor of L-amino acid decarboxylase (Also known as DOPA decarboxylase)
now my question is: can i drink one or two cups of freshly brewed Green Tea (organic, no flavoring) to support the 5-HTP, or is it necessary to purchase EGCG pills?

It entirely depends on the tea you use. Some teas have very little EGCG, while others have ok amounts. They are never going to have the same amount as an EGCG extract pill, though. However, if you drink a couple cups of good quality green tea, that should be enough.
