Might be looking to get an adderal or vyvanse prescription.

So, without giving a lot away, I've been feeling really shitty for the past couple of months and am finally going to see a therapist and/or a psychiatrist next week.
I've been recommended to try adderal or vyvanse by non-medical professionals. I'm in my mid-20's and a college student with no history of ADD/ADHD other than one recommendation during high school that I be prescribed ritalin, but my mother was against it and the doc didn't really push the issue.
I'll be going in to talk to the therapist about my problems which are mainly a sever drop in motivation and general feelings of happiness.
What are /r/drugs thoughts on how that session might go?
Disclaimer: I'm not really for faking ADD symptoms to try and score a script, but I yearn for the feelings of extreme motivation that adderall users describe. Really, I'd just like to know to expect and how to avoid presenting any kind of drug-seeking behavior.

Well of course amphetamine will motivate you. It releases massive amounts of dopamine into your synapse. Is that what you want to be reliant on to get things done? Do you want the rest of your life to revolve around looking for that next spike in dopamine?
I really don't think you should be looking to avoid presenting drug-seeking behavior to any medical professional. That is exactly what you are doing. You are seeking amphetamine to make yourself feel better. The two people you never lie to in life are your lawyer and your doctor. That's because if you do, things start going in ways you do not want them to. Be honest with your therapist, and let him/her do their job. Let them help you rather than deceive them. If you really are showing signs of drug-seeking behavior, they need to see that. That will factor into their best estimate for your treatment.
