Have any of your tried this SSRE antidepressant? I'm very intrigued by chemicals that work heavily on NMDA and AMPA receptors and am definitely leaning towards trying it if I can locate a source.

Remember, memantine is an NMDA receptor antagonist. In isolation it is going to cause memory impairment until the body can adjust. That's just the mechanism. Think of it as the opposite of a racetam. Racetams are positive allosteric modulators of the NMDA/AMPA receptors. They increase transmission of calcium through the ion channels. Memantine decreases the transmission of calcium though the ion channels.
The implications of this are many. I have a feeling that racetams actually do have a tolerance buildup. I feel that tolerance buildup is mediated by that positive allosteric modulation of the NMDA receptors, as it has been proven to with things like amphetamine and opiates. Memantine works in the opposite manner, and has been shown to slow or reverse tolerance to stimulants like amphetamine. However, it still allows for normal operation of the NMDA receptors. So it can protect from glutamate damage while still allowing normal functioning. If you are not taking stimulants with it, it is going to cause some cognitive slowdowns until your body can adjust to the mechanism. It's that adjustment that we are looking to achieve.
Also, keep in mind that 30mg is 3 times the dosage I am using. Also, I do not have Multiple Sclerosis. This is going to be a supplement for those on stimulants for ADHD, or those that want to test out the mechanism of NMDA antagonism.
