MDA vs MDMA

alright so I just read this,
The main reason MDMA has the reputation it has and MDA is an afterthought is because for a period in the 1980's MDMA was perfectly legal and became a very established well-known drug sold openly whereas MDA has always been illegal and very hard to come across. Unfortunately the initial legal rise of MDMA solidified it's place in the minds of the masses and the parent was forgotten by most. Let me tell you though, MDMA does not come close to MDA. Whereas MDMA is a mellow 2 to 3 hour roll, MDA is a 8 to 12 hour hard smooth get-shot-out-of-a-cannonball high. It is like LSD without the mindfuck. You are just enveloped in peace, love, happiness, and beauty. And boy do you want to DANCE. With MDMA it feels good to dance, with MDA it feels DIVINE to dance as if the music has taken control of your soul. As a former VIP host in the NYC and Miami club scene I can tell you there is not a drug out there that comes close to MDA for partying. All and all MDA is just a beautiful beautiful drug that must be tried.
Can anyone please explain if this is true or not? I really love MDMA and have tried MDA a low low doses but I've always heard of people throwing up a good…

Ohh, ok! Haha
MDA is definitely more of a pushy drug. Some people love it. 6-APB was actually more like MDA than it was MDMA. You trade the lovey feelings of MDMA for more psychedelic and euphoric feelings. MDA is a more potent dopamine releaser than MDMA, and that definitely adds to the effects.
The issue with MDA is that it is MUCH more neurotoxic to 5-HT neurons than MDMA. This is due to the fact that the N-demthylated metabolites are more damaging than their methylated counterparts. Even if there was a way to completely inhibit CYP2D6, and stop all the alphamethyldopamine from being produced, you would sill have to worry about the ring-hydroxylation to THA. That's not nearly as bad for 5-HT neurons as α-Me-DA. However, it lowers tryptophan hydroxylase by up to 90%! That's a sure way to get depression. Not to mention I have not completely figured out the mechanism for this reduction. It could be damaging the body's ability to create the enzyme long term. That would be bad.
I would personally suggest 6-APB over MDA, simply for the fact that THA and α-Me-DA cannot be produced my it's metabolism. The vasoconstriction is an issue that needs to be dealt with. That is caused by the 5-HT2B agonism. That is actually the central mechanism for it's 5-HT releasing effects, on a presynaptic level. This means that we cannot combat it with 5-HT2B antagonism without losing the good effects. So I would suggest taking taurine, L-arginine, and maybe some THC to help with the vasoconstriction.
I cannot in good conscious advocate the use of MDA until I can find a better way to protect 5-HT neurons from it's metabolites. It's mainly that THA mechanism that I need to iron out. Other than that, my supplementation should protect from the hydroxyl radicals just like it does with MDMA. If the THA mechanism is oxidative in nature, it may be blocked by alpha lipoic acid. Not sure yet.
