FYI: The Ultras and religious conservatives are two different groups in Egypt. Ultras are basically working class soccer hooligans who are big into the macho thing and have a long history of getting into fights with the police. During the Tahrir Square protests, they were the ones most actively facing off against the cops and did a large bulk of the work of protecting the crowds from violence.
