Reward point coupons

Why do these reward point coupons expire? I’m still unsure if you keep the points you’ve earned but lose the ‘coupon’ but it makes no sense to give someone a coupon to order again only within a week of their last order… who is going to order something right after they just made an order??

The 90 days does make me stressed. I just ordered close to $1000 of stuff for black friday. That's a lot of points and I'm well stocked. It would sure be nice if I didn't have to worry about using them so soon.

That's kind of the point. Our goal was to incentivize people to make more orders in between our two big sales. 90 days is 3 months, exactly half way between our two big sales. It makes it hard to forecast when people wait to buy on Black Friday/Cyber Monday and then the summer sale, and just don't order in between. Then we have no idea how much inventory to build of each SKU, and we just have to make educated guesses, which is why we run out of stock on some things during the sale. With the points expiring halfway between sales, it incentivizes people to come back and order again, smoothing things out a bit. It's also there to help turn one time customers into regular customers. It seems to be working as intended so far.
