Right but do you burn less fat to create heat if you're taking a supplement that creates heat?

No, the heat and fat are directly correlated. Your body can only make heat by consuming calories. If you are in caloric balance, or a deficit, taking a thermogenic can only burn fat from your body. Now if you are in a calorie surplus, a thermogenic isn't going to make you burn fat, because you will just burn the excess calories to make it. But those calories are then not stored in your body, so it is still a net positive. It just means you won't gain as much as you would, rather than losing it. Our entire metabolic process consumes calories to make heat and CO2. When you lose fat, you are literally breathing it out. Fat is primarily carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. When you work out, you breathe more heavily. This is because you burning fat is turning it into CO2. A lot of people don't really think about that. 84% of all fat burned in the body becomes exhaled CO2. So next time you are hiking up a hill and breathing heavily, remember that's fat you are breathing out! LOL
