Buying mushroom supplements is a pain in the ass. You have to worry about things like how they’re extracted, if they’ve been third-party tested, ingredient transparency and watch out for supplements using myceliated grain, rice or biomass-based supplements, which are basically just starch with barely any real benefits.
Even a brand like Oriveda, which claims to be top-tier and trustworthy, isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The owner of Nootropics Depot called them out for using fake dry lab methods and false claims.
Honestly, you’re better off just buying the mushrooms and eating them.

I don't even know where the idea started that they were a top-tier brand to start with! Is it because they said so? Brands just have to say they are the best, and people believe them without evidence? We have spoken to suppliers in China that were making the same unfounded eriancine and hericenone claims Oriveda was. My team even yelled at them for putting that fake erinacine and hericenone standardization on their shit. The Chinese knew those numbers were not real, but they said Americans wanted to see them, so they put it on there. Is it too much to ask that brands do some fucking analytical chemistry BEFORE they sell to consumers? And to be clear, I am not saying Oriveda's mushrooms are bad. They do test with higher actives than many brands. Not more than ours, but certainly more than the shit brands everyone buys from Amazon. However, lies are lies. Fake numbers are fake numbers. Don't say your product has X, but then don't do the necessary scientific work to prove that. It's the responsibility of the brands themselves to do everything necessary to prove their claims. If you can't prove the claims yet, don't make the claims!
