I just came here today just to ask about Smart PS being out of stock everywhere.
Years ago, I read the research and started giving it to my elderly parents.
Then, I decided that it was hyped and useless.
When I took it out of their stacks, I noticed that they declined. Started again — they improved. It definitely works, but it’s on the scale of weeks, not days.
My 99 YO mother-in-law has been taking it and just shocked her doctor with her cognitive test performance ;). Thinking back, she is actually much better than she was ten years ago !
According to this article it’s one of the few nootropics for which the FDA actually allows a cognitive health claim:

I need more soon please !
Any idea what’s causing shortage ? Perhaps the war in Ukraine ?

Yes, the war in Ukraine is a big part of it. It is disrupting both soy and sunflower lecithin markets. The raws for our supercritical coriander are also grown in Ukraine, but in the west, so they have not been affected yet.
Soy lecithin has another reason for its disruptions: Trump. When Trump started the trade war with China, the US was supplying most of their soy. In retaliation for our tariffs (which all of you are still paying for, by the way) China retaliated by stopping all imports of soy from US farmers. They shifted to Brazil, which has cut down more rain forest in response to grow more soy for China. So not only has this exacerbated the destruction of the rain forest, it almost bankrupt tons of US farmers, who suddenly didn't have a buyer for all their soy. To prevent tons of farmers from failing, Trump then did a bailout larger than the cost of maintaining the US nuclear arsenal.
So not only was a big part of consumer inflation driven by the higher prices resulting from the Trump tariffs, we had to spend taxpayer money to bail them out and prevent farming system collapse. Even now, many farmers are losing $30 per acre on their soy. This soy excess in the US doesn't help us, though. This is because 95% of US soy is GMO. We have to use non-GMO soy for our supplements, which was mostly grown in Russia and Ukraine. So it is this weird bastardized situation of too much GMO supply, not enough non-GMO supply, and consumers and taxpayers getting fucked for it. This is why trade wars always hurt the citizens most.
