Last sentence of the first paragraph of "A Neuroprotective Longevity PowerhouseA Neuroprotective Longevity Powerhouse": "With this in mind, we can even classify Astragaloside IV as an apoptogenic agent!"
Pretty sure you meant "adaptogenic" :P

That sentence does seem a bit non-sequitur, especially for the audience it seems to be written for. As in, how does protecting the brain from the damage of stress directly define a compound as apoptogenic?

You are right in that it is confusing because of the sentence it comes after. Perhaps it was this study that threw him off.
That's protecting the brain from apoptotis caused by radiation therapy, so in that regard it is anti-apoptotic. However, it can be directly apoptotic to other cancer cells. I think changing the wording will make things more clear in this context. Separate the brain protecting effects from the other direct apoptotic effects.
