For anyone wondering — I took a mucuna extract with a range of 6-15% L-Dopa for almost 2 years straight with only few breaks cycling off of it here and there. I mentioned this before in a couple different threads and, of course, it sent some into red alert. IME the L-Dopa in mucuna is perfectly safe at a reasonable range. I am not speaking to extracts that are upwards of 50-99% L-Dopa as I have no experience with those although I have seen them marketed. I do wonder if mucuna has some sort of mechanism within its phytochemistry that alters the way L-Dopa is processed by the brain. Regardless, it remains one of my favorite herbs in my stack, so I finally ordered more.
As ND has mentioned releasing their own version of the supplement — I wanted to share that within the 2 years of using it I’ve noticed it has greatly improved my cognition and ability to focus, helped to heal my suffering dopaminergic system after heavy use of kratom and other substances, and aided my CNS in learning how to self-regulate again in a calmer state while working and under acute stress from external stimuli. The benefits go beyond these, but the engaged and focused presence of mind is most notable.

I was thinking of offering a Mucuna extract recently, actually! I was beta testing some extracts, and realized I didn't give it a proper shake over the years. You are right, the lower L-DOPA extracts are the way to go. The full spectrum effects are really nice, and you lose them the higher up on the L-DOPA standardization you go.
